Derbyshire in the Movies | ||

We are fortunate to live in a very popular area for location directors. Just lately our local area has featured in a number of Hollywood Blockbusters. The latest of which is The Wolfman starring Benicio del Toro, Emily Blunt and Anthony Hopkins. This is just one in a long line of movies that has chosen Chatsworth House as its backdrop. Others recently include The Duchess and Pride & Prejudice, both of which starred Keira Knightley - I think she likes the place. |

the BBC have used Haddon Hall as a location for Jane Eyre
- which was a stunning production and featured, of course, the
burning down of Thornfield Hall by Mrs Rochester. On the night
that this was filmed Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service
received in excess of 150 fire calls from concerned members of
the public (I know because I work for Derbyshire Fire &
Rescue Service).
Haddon Hall was also used as a location for The Other Boleyn Girl starring Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansen |
